Maryclaire Ahlgren

Maryclaire joined the staff in June of 2024. Her journey began as a School Social Worker where she worked with ages 3-21 in high school through elementary school settings. Maryclaire has worked with a wide variety of kids and adolescents who have emotional, behavior, and/or physical challenges. Her experience is working with clients diagnosed with, but not limited to, Developmental Delays, Autism, ADHD, anxiety, learning disabilities, depression, oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), emotional disabilities (ED), and PTSD. As a therapist, Maryclaire strives to empower her clients, not to fit into society’s norms, but teach them to move in society in a way that best fits them. She believes in utilizing a strength based approach to work with the client and their family to meet shared therapy goals. Maryclaire wants to understand her client in all their daily settings to develop an attainable treatment plan that can address past, current, and potential future challenges. Maryclaire has experience with individual sessions, duo sessions, group sessions, and family sessions with clients who have, but are not limited to, challenges associated with grief, issues with family conflict, peer relationships, anger management, adjustments in family dynamics, and minor and major life transitions. Maryclaire is also LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC supportive. Maryclaire earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas in Social Welfare and her Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago with an emphasis in school aged children and adolescents
