Paula joined the staff in July of 2023. With three decades of dedicated service to the well-being of children and adolescents, Paula brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as a therapist. Her journey began as a passionate educator, where she cultivated her understanding of the unique challenges facing young minds in today’s complex world.
As a therapist, Paula believes in the power of authentic connections as the cornerstone of healing. Her client-centered approach emphasizes the creation of safe and nurturing spaces where children and adolescents feel empowered to explore their emotions and navigate life’s obstacles. Through trust-building and empathetic listening, she encourages her clients to embrace vulnerability and take courageous steps towards growth.
Drawing from a diverse range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Family Systems, Attachment-Based, Mindfulness-Based, and Narrative therapies, Paula tailors her interventions to meet the individual needs of each young person she serves. Whether guiding them through anxiety, depression, trauma, or behavioral challenges, she remains steadfast in her commitment to promoting resilience and fostering positive change.
Paula earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, her first Master’s degree from Northwestern University, and her Master of Social Work from Aurora University.
